I saw this video for the vocations office of the NCCB, and I was floored. It's extremely well done.

He missed Mommy.....

Mary went to Weight Watchers today, and William did NOT want to see her go. He sat by the door and waited for her....sobbing the whole time.

Poor guy. Just wants his mommy.

Home Improvement

We've just finished hanging curtains in the living room.

I've figured out why home improvement is so popular. Husbands and wives bring their own unique talents into the project. Women love planning the ensemble and picking out the coordinating pieces. Men love to drill holes in the wall and mess with mounting hardware, levels, power tools, measurements, and stud finders.

I've also noticed that we tend to want some exclusivity in our respective "domains". IOW, Mary won't like my choice of colors or patterns when it comes to picking out layouts, fabrics, etc.... On the flip side, once she's explained to me what she wants in the finished product, I prefer her to step aside as I measure out where to mount brackets and drill pilot holes.

I've also noticed that both the husband and wife gripe about the work when they get started, but both look upon the completed project with a common sense of accomplishment.

It's funny how it works out in the end....

Bishop Aymond moved to New Orleans

Continuing this year's rapid clearout of the Stateside docket, this morning the Pope named Bishop Gregory Aymond of Austin as the fourteenth archbishop of New Orleans.

Ordained a priest for the Crescent City in 1975 and its auxiliary bishop from 1997 until his transfer to Texas' capital three years later, the 59 year-old choice -- the first NOLA native ever to lead the Big Easy's local church -- succeeds Archbishop Alfred Hughes, who reached the retirement age of 75 in December 2007.......

Andrew's New Glasses!

Yea! Andrew's new glasses came in today! Last fall, we noticed that Andrew kept turning his head down, but looking up to see things. Then, he started winking a lot. This seemed a bit fishy to us, so we had his eyes checked. Sure enough, the opthalmologist said that he is very far-sighted & that it is difficult to focus on anything. Now w/ his new glasses, he can see so much better! We are so glad to have had him diagnosed this early. Imagine seeing everything so blurry all of the time! And who knows how long he's been having this problem.

It was so cute when he first put them on.....he kept looking @ the carpet & walking around saying, "I can see the floor!" as he laughed. Some elderly ladies who were picking up some glasses were tickled to see Andrew so excited. On the drive home, he was very attentive to what was outside his window.

Initially, we were going to play games for Family Fun Night, because we've been watching a lot of movies lately. But, since Andrew just got his glasses today, we went ahead & watched a movie instead.
